Instructors:
Leslie Blanchette has been the Department Chair since 2006. She is a former BCAHS student. Leslie has a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science and a Masters Degree in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. Leslie worked as a veterinary technician for a few years before changing fields and going into research laboratory animal technology. In addition to teaching these topics, she instructs students in grooming and dog training as well as small animals husbandry. In addition to teaching her classes and running the department she has also written multiple grants which has allowed us to build our biotechnology and veterinary science laboratory.
Dan Flynn has been an instructor since 2011. His background is in livestock management. He raises and markets his own goats, sheep, chickens, and eggs. His animal husbandry and business experience are put to good use in his Large Animal classes. Dan has a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science as well as Plant Science. In his spare time Dan runs his own landscape design business!
Rochelle Gagne has been an instructor since 2011. She is also a former BCAHS student. She worked as a veterinary technician for many years before changing fields and becoming a teacher. Her main passion is the Equine Science classes that she teaches. Her particular interest is in equine reproduction which lends itself very well to her biotechnology curriculum. Her Bachelors Degree is in Animal Science and she is working on a Masters Degree in Vocational Education.
Rachel Keating is our newest instructor that has joined our team this school year. She has her Bachelors degree in Animal and Veterinary Science and Minor in Equine Studies. Even though her passion is the Equine field she has worked as a dog groomer, veterinary technician and at a dog boarding facility. Ms. Keating serves as the BCAHS Drill Team coach and is very excited to join BCAHS and start her career educating students.
Foremen:
Kyle Medeiros was recently named the new Animal Science Foreman. Kyle is a fourth generation dairy farmer from Westport, MA. He attended the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst and has worked at Bristol Aggie since 2007. He currently acts as a Bristol County Conservation District Supervisor and is a chairperson for the Westport Agricultural Fair Committee. Kyle also oversees the BA Grows Garden and Farm Stand Program as well as the Bristol Aggie Farmers Market here at school.
Matt Carr is the schools Field Crops Foreman and Farm Manager. Matt is a graduate of Bristol Aggie and has worked for the school for over 20 years. He works in the Animal Science In his spare time Matt raises his own beef cattle. During fair season he often shows his blue ribbon oxen team.
